  • 1 tablespoon of granulated sugar
  • 1 cup of warm water
  • 1 tablespoon of oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3 cups flour
For the mince stuffing:
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 300 grams of beef
  • 2 tomatoes
  • 1 onion
  • 3 cloves of garlic
  • 4 pointed peppers
  • 2 tablespoons of oil
  • 1/2 cup of water
For service:
  • 2 tablespoons of melted butter
For the above:
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 tablespoon of oil

How to Make Turkish Mince Pita Recipe?

1-For the dough, take a dry yeast and powdered sugar in a deep bowl, add warm water on top, mix and leave for about 10 minutes on one side to swell.

2-Then add the oil and beat with a whisk. Then add 2 cups of flour and salt and start kneading.

3-Add the remaining 1 cup of flour in a controlled manner and knead until you get a dough that does not stick to the hand. You need to knead for about 5 minutes. After kneading, cover and leave to ferment for 45 minutes in a warm place.

4-Prepare the inner mortar while fermenting the dough. For internal mortar; Finely chop the onion, tomatoes and peppers and mix with minced meat. Grate the garlic, add the oil and water, add the spices and mix well. Your internal fee is ready.

5-Take the fermented dough, lightly knead it on the counter and stretch it like a cylinder and cut it into 6 equal pieces.

6-Knead each piece with your hand, roll it up and roll it out with the help of a roller, the pita shaped and according to the size of your tray, the thinner you open it.

7-On a baking sheet, greased and sprinkled with flour, cool the dough you prepared and share the mortar you prepared on them.

8-Curl up the edges and press it well so that it does not open while cooking. Whip the oil with egg yolk and rub it with the help of a brush.

9-Bake in a preheated 200 degree oven for about 12 minutes until the edges are golden brown. As soon as you take it out of the oven, apply butter to the edges and cover the tops with a clean cloth if you want a softer pita. If you like crispy, don’t cover it. Serve after the first heat has passed.
