There are many types of dessert in Turkish cuisine. Sultan dessert is just one of these Turkish desserts. Let’s face it, almost every day passes the minds of many of us, even though we have a dessert on food. Don’t worry, we heard your inner voice and prepared exactly the dessert that you thought of.

We prepared our semolina dough for the Sultan dessert recipe.. We found a beautiful blue poppy seeds before giving it to the oven. It was not enough, we put a piece of walnut on them. We roasted beautifully in the oven and floated in the sherbet. Somehow, we went on a strict diet, we got rid of all our excess, we ate with pleasure. : )

Ingredients for Sultan Dessert Recipe

  • 200 grams of butter
  • 1 cup of granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup oil
  • 1/2 cup coconut
  • 1 cup grits (irmik)
  • 1 packet of baking powder
  • 1 packet of vanilla
  • 3 cups flour
For the above:
  • 1 glass of water Milk
  • 1 cup poppy seeds
  • 1 cup of walnuts
For the syrup (sherbet):
  • 1 cup of granulated sugar
  • 1.5 cups of water
  • 2 drops of lemon juice
How to Make Sultan Dessert Recipe?

For the syrup (sherbet):

  • Boil sugar and water in a saucepan.
  • Add lemon juice on it and boil for a few minutes, then remove it from the cooker and let it cool.

To prepare the dough:

  • Whisk butter and sugar in a bowl until the sugar melts.
  • Add eggs and oil and continue whisking.
  • Add coconut, semolina and baking powder and mix again.
  • Finally add the vanillin. Start kneading by adding flour little by little.
  • Cut walnut-sized pieces from the dough and roll.
  • Put the walnut-sized cookie dough in milk and then poppy seeds.
  • Finally, dip the walnut in the middle and place it on the baking tray with greaseproof paper with gaps between them.
  • Bake in a preheated 180 degree oven for about 25 minutes.
  • Pour the cold syrup (sherbet) over the cooked and still hot dessert and let it sit until it pulls.
  • Dessert, serve after taking the sherbet. Share it with your loved ones and enjoy your meal. 🙂
